Description
Touted as an unofficial ‘Great Walk’ the Queen Charlotte Track enjoys stunning coastal
views of the Marlborough Sounds – where the mountains meet the sea. The spectacular
71km walking track, stretches from historic Ship Cove to Anakiwa, passing through lush
coastal forest, around coves and inlets, and along skyline ridges offering breathtaking
views of the Queen Charlotte and Kenepuru Sounds.
On this classic adventure we will spend 4 days walking between each of our
comfortable accommodations. With all luggage transfers included we only need to take
our own day pack on the track each day. Graded as an Intermediate track by the
Department of Conservation it is well formed and well maintained with a couple of long
walking days on day 3 and day 4.
On the final day of our tour we spend a relaxing day in Blenheim firstly at Cloudy Bay’s
Cellar Door for an educational wine-tasting (well worth it even for non-drinkers),
followed by a visit to Allan Scott’s Cellar Door and a leisurely lunch at the awardwinning Allan Scott Bistro.
