Join us for this very special pilgrimage walking the last part of the Way of St James. This spiritual and historical journey is globally significant for many looking for physical and spiritual renewal.
We will walk the last 120+ km from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela, which is the shortest distance that can be completed to receive a compostela (the proof of walking entered into your pilgrim passport credential).
We will meet in Porto, Portugal and spend a couple of days exploring and acclimatising before we are taken by minibus to Sarria to start our walk.
We will spend a week, walking between 15-25km per day, through countryside and villages and staying overnight in twin-share accommodation in various villages. You will be able to walk at your own pace, on your own if you prefer or with others and meet up with the group at our booked accommodation.
We are able to have our bags carried and so only need to carry a day pack. At the end of the trail we will spend a day in Santiago and then do a day trip to the coast at Finisterre before we head back to Porto by bus. We will do a tour to the Duro Valley, the local wine and port region and have a last day in Porto before we head for home. Numbers will be limited. You are responsible for your own flights and travel insurance and health insurance including Covid cover. You will also need to have trained sufficiently to be able to walk these distances. Both Debbie Goldingham and Ruth Donde are the leaders on this adventure.
